A **Bottle Bill** is a state-level container-deposit law. Consumers pay a per-container deposit at purchase and recover it at a redemption point. Active US states (as of 2026):

CA (CRV), OR, WA (BottleDrop), CT, NY, MA, ME, VT, MI, HI, IA — plus most Canadian provinces.

## Why deposit values vary
