Redemption Center

A state-certified facility where consumers return beverage containers and receive the CRV/deposit refund in cash.

## What is a redemption center?

A **redemption center** is a CalRecycle-certified (or other-state-certified) site that accepts empty beverage containers from consumers and pays them the deposit. Two operating models:

- **Standalone:** Walk-in customers, mostly cash payouts.
- **Reverse Vending Machine (RVM):** Automated bag-drop or single-feed machines (like Oregon BottleDrop's "Green Bag" program).

## Compliance burden

Same as for scrap operators — daily DR-6/DR-14 inputs, ID for large redemptions, theft prevention, segregation by material.

## How WeighPay handles redemption centers

WeighPay's CRV / Bottle Bill module is built specifically for redemption centers. Single-stream and segregated workflows, ATM payouts, RVM imports.
