Hawaii's Deposit Beverage Container Program (HRS Chapter 342G Part VIII, with HAR Chapter 11-282) — the HI-5 program — sets a 5¢ refundable deposit plus a separate non-refundable container fee, and pays certified redemption centers a per-pound or per-container handling fee. The Hawaii Department of Health Solid & Hazardous Waste Branch audits redemption-center counts and weights.
